According to the County, OES MendoAlert is their primary means of providing notification. You can register to receive MendoAlerts through text message, phone number, and email trough EventBridge.
Access the Registration via the Mendocino Sheriff’s home page and find the link under ‘Alerts’.
Next, you can sign up for additional alerts via a system called NIXLE. You can register for NIXLE notifications affecting area codes of your choice by texting a zip code to 888777 or registering online at Messages from Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office (CA) : Nixle.

If there is a Neighborhood Fire Safe Council in your community, be sure to sign up for their communications.
Finally, if you hear a sheriff’s vehicle running Its HI-LO (European style) siren, it means you need to be alert and tuned into local media and ready to evacuate — or that it is already time to evacuate.
